FAQ about growing Lycopodium

The tips is based on my experience growing Lycopodium about 7 years in Malaysia.

1. What is the best media for Lycopodium?
You can use several media like;

a. 1 : 1 : 1 of perlite, peat moss and charcoal
b. 100% sphagnum moss (my favourite media)
c. 1: 1 of coconut husk and perlite
d. 1:1:1 of perlite, charcoal and sphagnum moss

The suitable media will depend on your microclimate and watering habit. For me, in Central of Malaysia, I love to use with 100% high grade of sphagnum moss.

2. How often to water your Lycopodium?
Depend on your media. By using 100% sphagnum moss, I water my Lycos in alternate day.

3. How often to fertilize your Lycopodium?
Once a month with high Nitrogen organic fertilizer. I feed my Lycos with foliar and powder form fertilizer.

4. How about the disease?
In my collection, I always have a problem with Fusarium aka 'Fish Egg Fungus'.

5. Pot or driftwood, which one better?
Driftwood will give your Lycos like in nature .. but it will effect your watering schedule. Mine, I grow them in plastic pot, its seem they love it very much.

6. Light?
The best condition is 50% sun light. It will give you the best green color.
